Our committees carry out the tasks of congregational life. Most meet
monthly. Some organize occasional activities which require many hands
so both regular members and sometimes helpers are welcome. Only chairs
of committees must be members and are appointed by the Board. The Board
of Trustees and some committees like Nominating, Audit, Building
Management, Investments, Ministry, Personnel, Caring, Lotz (music) and
Herrschaft (lectures) are elected or appointed by the congregation,
Board or Minister. The Nominating Committee is glad to hear of your
interest in positions. PLease try out or join any of the following
committees:
Abrazame/Diversity Circle meetings monthly and is
open to the public. Each program features a different culture or
cultural issue and uses different media of expression from film to
dance to cuisine. Selva Joseph
Adult Religious Education and Programs sponsors all forums, educational series, discussion groups & classes, as well as the library and workshop. Tom Edwards
Arts sponsors all dramatic, musical events, art festivals and exhibits. It holds a book sale several times a year. Emily Sokoloff
Denominational Concerns apprises the Congregation of
activities in the national, regional and local organizations and
encourage our participation. Gene Wine
Finance monitors and makes recommendations regarding the operating budget of the Congregation. Joyce Anderson
House & Grounds is responsible for building & yard maintenance, organizes work parties and inspections. Rick Homer and David Roelant
Long Range Planning engages the Congregation in developing long-range plans and monitors resulting action plans. Inge Nickerson
Membership promotes a sincere spirit of hospitality to welcome
guests and stimulate fellowship within the Congregation. Programs for
Newcomers to explore the Path to Membership are held quaterly. Judy

Memorial receives gifts for Friendship & Memorial Bricks,
as well as other memorials. This committee also oversees the upkeep of
the lovely Friendship Garden. Kay Kuge
Public Relations and Publications prepares an advertising
program, designs the web page, releases stories to the media and aids
committees in preparation of literature, booklets, news stories, etc.

Religious Education maintains a program of liberal religious
education for children and youth. This includes a Sunday program and
special events like Monster Bash, Secret Friends, and field trips.

Social Justice studies social problems, educates, and stimulates public witness and social action by the Congregation. Judy Homer
Ways & Means oversees and organizes fundraising events like dances, Annual Service Auction and Flea Market. Joyce Anderson
Worship plans and conducts, with the minister, varied Sunday
services and special celebrations to express the interests and concerns
of the Congregation. We draw upon scriptures, poetry, music and rituals
of many faith traditions, as well as contemporary society. Guest
ministers, other speakers, dancers, lay leaders present on a variety of
themes when our minister is not in the pulpit.
