May 11th: Honoring Our Mamas

May 11 2014

- Cassie Montenegro
Mother's Day finds its deepest roots not in the Hallmark aisle, but in the work of Unitarian women who sought to bring awareness to children's issues and ameliorate post-Civil War tensions by appealing to those in their communities who,  by definition, were to "watch over, nourish, and protect." Join us on this special day in the spirit of our religious predecessors to reflect upon and honor those who "mother" and to consider how we, by calling  upon the strength and determination engendered in us by the maternal figures in our own lives, can take action in our homes, our communities, and our world at large.

This worship service takes place at 11:00 AM.
